Google Business Profile
For anyone searching nearby, your Google Business Profile often decides whether they contact you — not your website. The map results sit above the ordinary links, and most people never scroll past them.
Why the profile matters more than the website for local searches
Ranking in ordinary search results takes years and a lot of links. The map results work differently: they are weighted heavily on how close you are to the person searching and how many reviews you have. That makes them winnable for a small business in a way that competing for broad search terms is not.
What we set up and keep current
The things that are wrong on most profiles: a website link that actually works, the right categories, an accurate service area, hours, and a description that says what you really do. Then the ongoing part — keeping it current, adding photos, and making it easy for customers to leave a review, because reviews are the part you can genuinely influence.
What it will not do
A profile will not help much if you are a long way from the people searching, and it will not make up for having no reviews. It is also not a substitute for a website, because people check the site before they call. It works when both are in order.
