The problem is that it was built years ago and nobody has looked after it since: plugins out of date, no backups anyone has checked, and a Google listing that has drifted out of date. That is what we fix, and then keep fixed.

Most of the work we do for established businesses is not a rebuild. It is taking over a website someone else built, making a full backup, fixing what is broken, and then looking after it properly every month with the Website Care Plan.
Each month we test updates on a staging copy before they touch your live site, keep backups off the server and check they restore, keep PHP on a supported version, and send you a short report. The report includes your Google Search Console results: what people searched to find you, what they clicked, and any pages Google cannot read.
If the site is simple and changes rarely, a fast static website can remove most of that upkeep altogether, because there is no WordPress and no plugins left to patch.

About static websites →Yes, this is common. You need access to the hosting and the domain, or at least to know who they are registered with. We help you recover access, take a full backup, and then look after the site. You do not have to start again.
Warning signs: it is slow on a phone, it shows the wrong hours or phone number, the contact form has stopped sending, or nobody can remember the last time WordPress or its plugins were updated. Out-of-date plugins are the most common way small business sites get broken into.
Hosting keeps your site online. Maintenance keeps it working: updates, backups, security checks and fixing things when they break. They are separate jobs, and many businesses pay for hosting thinking it includes maintenance when it does not.
Often it is not one thing. Slow pages, pages Google cannot read, an out-of-date Google Business Profile, or competitors with clearer pages about the same service. Search Console shows which of these is happening, which is why it is in every care plan report.

For a site that explains what you do and gets people to call, often yes: it is faster and there is nothing to patch. If you sell online or update the site daily, WordPress is still the better fit. We will tell you which suits you.
