Website Care Plan

A website care plan is the difference between a site that keeps working and one that quietly falls apart. Websites are not set and forget. WordPress, your theme and every plugin get security updates, and when nobody applies them the site drifts further behind until something breaks or gets exploited.

What a website care plan covers

Core, plugin and theme updates are tested on a staging copy first, so problems surface there instead of on your live site. Backups run to storage away from the server and get checked, because a backup nobody has restored is a hope rather than a plan. Your PHP version stays on a supported release — once PHP falls out of support the security fixes stop, and most hosts eventually force the upgrade at the worst possible moment.

Each month you get a short report in plain English telling you what was done and anything worth knowing about. You can see exactly what is included and what sits outside the plan before you commit to anything.

When something does break

Updates are tested, but the web moves and things still go wrong. If the site goes down, the contact form stops delivering, or an update breaks a page, you tell us and we deal with it. You are not left hunting for someone who knows your site, explaining it from scratch, and waiting on a quote while your business is offline.

What we need from you

Almost nothing. Most of our clients never touch their own website — changes are sent to us and we make them. We hold the access, we do the work, you get the report. If you would rather keep your hands on it, that works too.

Knowing whether any of it is working

A care plan keeps the site healthy, but it will not tell you whether anyone is finding it. That is what Search Console reporting is for, and the two sit well together.

We can look after a site we do not host

A care plan is not tied to our hosting. If your website sits with another provider and you are happy there, we can still look after it. The updates, the backups, the checks and the monthly report all work the same way.

One honest limit. On hosting we do not control we can diagnose a server-level problem but we cannot fix it — that has to go back to your host, and we will tell you exactly what to ask them for. A few hosts are poor enough that maintenance is not really viable, so we look at the setup first and say so if that is the case.

This is separate from hosting. Hosting keeps your site online. A care plan keeps it working.
